چکیده

jugular vein and the subclavian vein. The left brachiocephalic vein (LBCV) usually passes superior and anterior to the aortic arch (1). In rare cases, this vein follows an anomalous course. This anomaly was first described by Kerschner in 1888 (2) and a double LBCV described by Takata in 1992 (3). The incidence of an aberrant left brachiocephalic vein (ALBCV) with congenital heart disease is 0.15-0.98%, whereas in the general population, the incidence of this condition has been reported to be from 0.06 to 0.37% (4). In this report, we describe the computed tomography (CT) findings of circumaortic LBCV.

Balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration of gastric varix with multiple drainage veins performed with temporal occlusion of the pericardiacophrenic vein with a micro-balloon

We encountered a case with a gastric varix that drained into the gastro-renal shunt, left pericardiacophrenic vein, and several other dilated collateral veins. This patient had a circumaortic venous ring. For this case we successfully performed balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration in which sclerotic agents were infused from the balloon catheter advanced to the left pre-aortic re...

Case Report: Circumaortic Left Renal Vein

Awareness of the variation and renal vascular abnormality at retroperitoneal space surgeries such as kidney surgery and transplantation is very important and necessary. Complexity in the veins development of the kidney area of fetus leads to a series of changes in the production of these veins, including the extra kidney vein, and the posterior aorta vein. In this case report, we present a case...

Anterior and posterior nutcracker syndrome accompanying left circumaortic renal vein in an adolescent: case report.

The left renal vein (LRV) has many developmental variations; the two most common are the circumaortic and the retrocaval. Anterior nutcracker syndrome is the compression of the LRV between the aorta and superior mesenteric artery, whereas posterior nutcracker syndrome occurs between the vertebral column and the aorta. An adolescent male (aged 16 years) was referred to the emergency department f...

Juxtarenal Aortic Pseudoaneurysm – Right Renal Vein Fistula with Circumaortic Renal Collar-Delayed Manifestation of a Gunshot Injury – an Uncommon Entity Diagnosed with CT Angiography

BACKGROUND Delayed presentation of post-traumatic aortic pseudoaneurysm and its fistulous communication with the right renal vein is a very rare entity. Most of the cases described in literature are due to abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) rupture into the left renal vein. To the best of our knowledge, communication with the right renal vein has not been described in published literature. Our pat...

CT Demonstration of the Extracardiac Anastomoses of the Coronary Veins in Superior Vena Cava or Left Brachiocephalic Vein Obstruction

CT scans in four cases of chronic superior vena cava or left brachiocephalic vein obstruction demonstrate a systemic-to-cardiac collateral venous pathway through anastomoses between the pericardial branches of systemic veins and the presumed adventitial veins of the ascending aorta and pulmonary trunk. These adventitial veins then drain into tributaries of the anterior cardiac veins or ventricu...
